National slow down day sees drivers caught in first five hours

NATIONAL slow down day has seen an increase in gardaí and speed vans all over the country. 

Gardaí’s latest report on X (formerly Twitter) has said that 37,295 have been speed checked by GoSafe vans in the first five hours of the day.

65 drivers have been caught speeding.

Some speeds detected include:

* 158km/hr in a 120 zone

* 146km/hr in a 100 zone

* 98km/hr in an 80 zone

* 72km/hr in a 50 zone
