Man charged in connection with Dublin riots

A man in his 60s is to appear before court charged in connection with riots in Dublin last November.
The man was arrested on Monday afternoon in Dublin city centre where a number of protests were taking place.
He was arrested at around 2pm in Parnell Square and was questioned at a Garda station in north Dublin.
He is suspected of committing a number of offences during serious rioting in Dublin last November.
Ireland experienced its worst rioting on November 23 when gardai came under attack, a Luas tram, a bus and Garda cars were burnt, and some shops were looted in scenes attributed to “far-right elements”.
The man is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Tuesday afternoon.
A total of 39 people have been arrested in connection with the large-scale riots.
