'It changed his life forever': Funds raised for best friend of man brutally murdered in Dublin

Josip Štrok suffered severe head injuries
A fundraiser has been set up for a Croatian man who was allegedly assaulted, and whose best friend was murdered in an attack in Dublin.
David Družinec was injured in an attack, during which his childhood friend Josip Štrok was murdered. Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of the Croatian man.
The two friends were set upon by a group of Irish males after getting off the bus.
Josip Štrok, who lived in central Dublin, suffered severe head injuries in Clondalkin, on 30 March. He was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries on April 3.
Mr Družinec said the attack left him from suffering from severe physical injuries and skull fractures.
A fundraiser has been set up to help with his medical costs. The organiser said the encouraging messages sent to him brought back his faith in humanity.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the wonderful, encouraging messages you are sending to David, which give him great strength and brings back his faith in humanity. In addition to the serious physical injuries he survived, David also experienced great psychological trauma as a result of the assault," said the Go Fund Me organiser.
"The murder of his best friend Josip, his childhood friend and his son's godfather, changed David's life forever.
Therefore, your support means a lot to him and thank you once again for all the messages, for every donation and for sharing this fundraising to help us reach the goal together, and raise the money for David's further medical treatments and recovery."
