THE NATIONAL Lottery has issued a final appeal for Lotto players to check their tickets from a draw in August, as they may have just over 24 hours to go until claim deadline for a life-changing prize.

A Lotto player who purchased their ticket on August 17, 2023, at Williams & Moran Centra on the Main Street in Emyvale, Co Monaghan, has just over 24 hours left to claim their winnings of €1,000,500.

The Monaghan player scooped their incredible prize in a special Lotto Plus Raffle event held in August. Each of the tickets with the winning Lotto Plus Raffle number drawn in that particular Saturday night draw were entered into a once-off random draw where one ticket was selected to win an additional prize of €1 million.

While every ticket holder who had the winning Raffle number won €500, a Monaghan player won €1 million, in addition to the usual €500 prize.

The winning Raffle number for the Saturday August 19 draw was: 3249.

As ticket holders have 90 days from the draw date to claim their prizes, the last date to claim this astonishing amount is close of business tomorrow, Friday November 17.

A National Lottery spokesperson has appealed to Lotto players nationwide who may have purchased a ticket in Emyvale in August to urgently check their old tickets.

"The winning ticket was purchased two days before the draw on Thursday, August 17, so we are encouraging players to think back to any journeys they may have had through the Monaghan town towards the end of the summer."

"The winner really could be any where as the shop is located on the main road that connects the North and South of the country so it could have been someone travelling through or maybe even a local to the area," they said.

The ticketholder is advised to sign the back of their ticket and make contact with the National Lotto prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] as soon as possible.
