Ireland could be in for more stormy weather with strong winds forecast just days before Christmas.

According to Carlow Weather, weather models have consistently shown a risk of strong winds around the 21st as cold air moves down.

They say it is one to keep an eye on in the coming days.

The forecast by Carlow Weather has led to many speculating that snow could be on its way for Christmas.

Ireland has endured a number of storms so far this year, with Leitrim experiencing a tornado last Sunday.

Met Éireann has forecast for it to be breezy or windy with fresh to strong and occasionally gusty south to southwest winds on Saturday night into Sunday. Weather is due to be mild with temperatures not falling below 9 or 10 degrees.
