The motorist was intercepted by the Cork County Roads Policing Unit

While taking part in the Bank Holiday Weekend Roads Policing Campaign, members from the Cork County Roads Policing Unit made a shocking discovery after pulling over a motorist.

Gardaí initially stopped a vehicle after it was detected that the driver was already serving a driving disqualification.

Just moments later, members from the Roads Policing Unit administered a standard DrugWipe test, which this motorist subsequently failed.

A quick glimpse into the passenger seat of the vehicle revealed the biggest surprise of all as the driver was found to be in possession of heroin, tinfoil and a weighing scale.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in the county confirmed that the intoxicated and disqualified driver will be charged to Court.
