'I won't see next Christmas' - Charlie Bird in heartbreaking health update

FORMER broadcaster Charlie Bird has shared a heartbreaking health update ahead of Christmas.

Posting on X(formerly known as Twitter), the former RTÉ presenter and journalist shared that he didn’t believe he would see this Christmas, "but the love and prayers I received from across the country helped me so much."

Diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2021, Charlie recently shared that he is now in a wheelchair and has to be fed with a tube.

"The state of my health now I believe I won’t see next Christmas," he posted. "But while I can I am going to continue extending the hand of friendship."
