'He's now thriving': Charity saves life of malnourished donkey

A Donkey sanctuary has shared an update on the condition of one of their rescues, which used to be malnourished.

After being taken care of by The Donkey Sanctuary Ireland located in Co Cork, 'Goldfinch' is now thriving.

Announcing the heart-warming news on social media, the charity commented: "It's been a whole year since we first met little Goldfinch! Despite being malnourished and covered in rain scald, he's now thriving."

Alongside a picture of the rescue, they added: "Rain scald is a painful condition for donkeys like Goldfinch during wintertime. The good news is, it can be prevented! A protective shelter and hardstanding area can keep this at bay."
