Mother of little girl injured in Parnell Street attack shares update

THE MOTHER of the five-year-old girl seriously injured in the attack outside a school on Dublin's Parnell Street has shared an update on her child's condition, saying she is "out of danger".

The girl's mother shared the update on Thursday, December 28, on a GoFundMe page that has been set up for the girl.

"Our angel has been out of the PICU for two weeks now. She is more alert and even smiled," the update said.

"We still have a long time still in hospital, but she is out of danger."

She also thanked everyone for all the help and support they have given since the attack, and wished everyone a happy Christmas and New year.

The GoFundMe fundraiser, which was set up by a friend of the girl's family, has raised over €55,000 since November.

A creche worker is also still receiving hospital treatment she sustained during the attack, which took place on November 23 this year.

Two other children were also treated for injuries they received during the attack, but were discharged from hospital shortly after.

A 50-year-old man, Riad Bouchaker, has since been charged with three counts of attempted murder.
