Gardai stop dangerous smoky vehicle on learner permit

A DRIVER with no licence whose car 'dangerously' failed its NCT was stopped by Gardaí earlier today in Co Dublin after they noticed smoke coming out of the engine.

Gardaí on patrol in Dublin 22 noticed a car coming from the NCT centre in Fonthill today, which 'dangerously failed' its NCT.

According to the gardai, the driver stated that he didn't see that it had failed dangerously.

"Further, he was driving on a learner permit and without a fully licenced driver. Car seized and proceedings to follow," they said.
