Gardai rush to scene as man is stabbed to death in house in Dublin

Gardaí in Tallaght are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 40s following an incident in Tallaght, Dublin 24 on Monday.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted shortly before 9pm to an incident at a residence in the Castle Park area of Tallaght. It is believed a man was stabbed in the incident.

A male in his 40s was treated by Emergency Services personnel but was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

His body remains at the scene which is preserved pending forensic and technical examination.

An man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin Region.

Investigations are ongoing and further updates will follow, gardai have said.
