Gardaí appeal to public to remain vigilant as car 'takes out' electricity pole in road incident

Gardaí are appealing to the public to be vigilant on roads following an incident which occurred in Monaghan last Saturday, January 13.
In a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: "Gardaí in Monaghan were alerted to a crashed car by a passerby on Saturday night. It had taken out an electricity pole but no driver was to be found nearby, much to our alarm.
While sharing an image of the crash along with the statement, the spokesperson said: "For those in any doubt that driving behaviour causes dangerous collisions."
