Galway family raises funds for hospital who helped their mum

They are raising funds for two hospitals
A Galway family is raising funds for the hospitals who helped their mum "achieve so much in such a little space of time".
Bernie Curley suffered a severe aneurysm and a stroke last August. But after the help of the medical teams in Dublin, in UCHG Stroke Unit and the Merlin Rehabilitation Unit, she is doing better.
"Mum, Bernie Curley, suffered a severe aneurysm & stroke last August but thanks to the amazing help of all her different medical teams over the past 8 months she is still with us to tell the tale," said the family on a fundraiser page.
"Mum has spent 6 weeks in Beaumont ICU, 2 months in UCHG Stroke Unit, 3 months in Merlin Rehab Unit, and continues her journey in the National Rehabilitation Unit Dun Laoighre. We have watched as mum has achieved goal after goal on this journey and after watching her walk for the first time in January I decided to set the goal of running the CONNEMARATHON Full Marathon - if she could achieve that I know I can achieve this," they explained.
Now, the family is raising funds, which will be split between UCHG Stroke Unit and Merlin Rehabilitation Unit.
"These teams of amazing medical practitioners have helped my mum achieve so much in such a little space of time and I would help them to achieve this in many other people’s healing journeys," they said.
