THE REOPENING of one famous Irish TV pub has happened under new management.

An Bonnán Buí, best known as Jacksie's in the sitcom Killinaskully, has re-opened to a local community welcome in the rural village of Ballinahinch, Tipperary.

During the early years of the new millennium, the premises located in the fictional of Killinaskully featured in the series as a focal point. Comedian Pat Shortt famously wrote the show and starred as a number of the show's characters.

The interior as seen on the screens was shot in Ryan's Thatched pub, in the neighbouring village, Killoscully.

An Bonnán Buí, which was recently purchased by Martin Kennedy, Newport, a former county councillor and life long GAA follower and officer of the Newport Club, has now re-opened to the public.
