Dublin family pleas to bring sick loved one back home

Sean O'Connor has been in the ICU since September
A Dublin family has asked for the public’s help to bring their loved one back home, after he suffered from an illness abroad.
Sean O’Connor was on a surprise trip in Sicily, Italy, when he started feeling unwell. In September, he went to the hospital and has not left the ICU since.
The Irish man developed several illnesses, including sepsis, pneumonia as well as issues with his pancreas.
His family organised a fundraiser to help him to return home to Ireland.
“Unfortunately Sean's health has taken some big hits over the last few months, some new illnesses have been covid, pneumonia and sepsis, along with trying to fight off the problems with his pancreas. As a result of this added struggle with his health, Sean, our family and the hospital have decided he needs to return home to Ireland,” the family said.
“Because of his weakened state, he will need to travel home by air ambulance and a figure we have been quoted is around €40,000. We have reached out to various departments within the government, manly the HSE and have been told we will have to pay this bill ourselves. This figure is something the family can not cover and we have a limited time to achieve this so we are asking for any help that can be given.
“Please help us get Sean home any way you can, whether that's donating, sharing this page or any advice that can help us,” they added.
