The little girl needs physiotherapy

The Dublin community has rallied to help a little girl diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

One-year-old Lola MacSweeny has been recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a group of disorders that affect a person's ability to move and maintain balance and posture.

To help the little girl get physiotherapy, the family has organised a fundraiser.

"My cousin Cian and his wife Julie, welcomed beautiful daughter Lola MacSweeny on 20th January 2023 in Dublin, Ireland.

Unfortunately Lola’s birth was quite complicated and she has recently been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy," they said.

"While she is thriving, regular physio and occupational therapy is a vital next step to help development of her motor capacities.

On 7 April 2024, I am running the ‘Namur Marathon’ in Belgium and am raising funds so Lola can benefit from these vital therapies in a healthcare system where access is currently challenging."
