Krispy Kreme is set to launch a special edition First Holy Communion doughnut range across Ireland

Popular doughnut shop Krispy Kreme is expected to launch their special edition collection of First Holy Communion doughnuts in-store soon.

The American franchise opened its doors in Ireland for the first time back in 2018. The first 24-hour drive-through store, located in Blanchardstown, Dublin, saw hundreds of people queue to get their hands on a sticky sweet treat.

Now, the famous confectionary brand is integrating into Irish and indeed, Catholic culture, as it is set to release a range of doughnuts designed specifically for those celebrating their First Holy Communion.

Declan Foley, country manager for Ireland at Krispy Kreme, said: “We can confirm that Krispy Kreme will be adding a range of communion doughnuts to help family and friends celebrate these very special occasions together.

“Joy, sharing and generosity are fundamental aspects of the Krispy Kreme brand, and we want to provide sharing moments for these two really special, Irish moments. We will be releasing more details on the range very soon.”

The expansion of the brand nationwide means that since January 2024, there are multiple Krispy Kreme stores in cities such as Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.
