Gardaí are enforcing disabled parking regulations, as part of Operation Enable.

Gardai have seized a number of disabled parking permits from motorists who were not entitled to use them.

During a major crackdown in Dublin this Tuesday, gardai also issued several fines to motorists, who were caught illegally occupying disabled parking bays.

Highlighting the detections on social media, gardaí say they are cracking down on disabled parking regulations, as part of Operation Enable, a nationwide initiative aimed at tackling the misuse of disabled parking permits and bays.

These efforts coincide with International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and highlight the importance of accessibility and respect for those living with disabilities.

The Irish Wheelchair Association took to social media to show its gratitude to members of An Garda Siochana for taking this issue seriously.

A member of the organisation said: "Huge thanks to @GardaTraffic for their support on the roads today as Operation Enable reminds motorists to respect disabled parking bays."
